Robert Narvaez, MD, MBA, is an experienced gastroenterologist at Digestive & Liver Disease Center of San Antonio PLLC, a digestive health care center. As one of the top colon cancer specialists in San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Narvaez believes his training was an invaluable foundation for his expertise as a gastroenterologist. But above all, he believes in the importance of taking time to focus on each patient and who they are outside of their condition.

Dr. Narvaez provides patients with the most advanced diagnostic methods available for a wide range of conditions such as colorectal cancer, liver disease, gallbladder problems, heartburn, and more. Dr. Narvaez earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, graduating cum laude. He obtained his Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University, also in San Antonio. He pursued his medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, before completing his residency in internal medicine there. Afterward, he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Prior to Digestive & Liver Disease Center of San Antonio PLLC, Dr. Narvaez served as the former chief of the gastroenterology clinic at Robert L. Thompson Regional Hospital – Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. He was also the president of the United Surgeons of San Antonio. Dr. Narvaez also established Home Technology Health Care, Inc., a corporation to deliver and manage parenteral and enteral nutrition for patients with digestive disorders.
Dr. Narvaez enjoys sharing his expertise with other respected leaders in his field and remains active in many professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology, American Association of Physicians and Surgeons, American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, American Telemedicine Association, Texas Medical Association, and Bexar County Medical Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Narvaez is passionate about giving back to the community. He is involved with many churches in San Antonio and contributes to charities for teenage mothers, homeless shelters, and various women’s organizations. In his free time, he enjoys weight lifting, fishing, and hunting.
